Toyota has also launched its electric-bike and car-sharing services

With the growing global demand for environmentally friendly travel, the restrictions on cars on the road are also increasing. This trend has prompted more and more people to find more sustainable and convenient means of transportation. Car-sharing plans and bikes (including electric and unassisted) are among many people’s preferred choices.

Toyota, a Japanese carmaker based in Copenhagen, the Danish capital, has keenly captured the market trend and taken innovative steps. They have launched an app that integrates short-term rental services for cars and e-bikes under the name of its mobile brand Kinto.

Copenhagen has become the first city in the world to offer electric-assisted bikes and car booking services through the same app, Forbes magazine reported. This not only facilitates the travel of local residents, but also attracts a large number of tourists to experience this unique low-carbon travel mode.

Last week, nearly 600 electric-powered bikes provided by Kinto began their service journey on the streets of Copenhagen. These efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles provide a new way of travel for citizens and tourists to travel.

Riders can choose to rent the bikes per minute for only DKK 2.55 (about 30 pence) per minute and an additional starting fee of DKK 10. After each ride, the user needs to park the bike in a designated dedicated area for others to use.

For those customers who don’t like to pay immediately, there are more options for their reference. For example, commuter and student passes are ideal for long-term users, while 72-hour passes are more suitable for short-term travelers or weekend explorers.

While this is not the world’s first e-bike sharing program, it may be the first that integrates cars and e-bikes.

This innovative transportation service combines two different means of transportation to provide users with more diverse and flexible travel options. Whether it is a car requiring long distances, or an electric bike suitable for short trips, it can be easily obtained on the same platform.

This unique combination not only improves the travel efficiency, but also brings a richer travel experience for users. Whether it’s shuttling in the center of the city, or exploring in the suburbs, the shared plan can meet all kinds of travel needs.

This initiative is not only a challenge to the traditional transportation mode, but also an exploration of the future of intelligent travel. It not only improves the traffic conditions in the city, but also promotes the popularization of the concept of green travel.
